FAQ for overflow students to PS 3, Cornwell School
Where do I report the first day? Report to PS 3 by 8:30am on the first day of school. If your child is planning to take the bus, see below for bus pick up and drop off location. You MUST show up the first day or your spot will be assigned to the next family on the waitlist.
When does the bus pick up and drop off? Pick up time at Cordero is 8:10am, at the 9th St school entrance. Arrival time back to Cordero will vary depending on traffic; note that this route will have an extra stop, dropping off students at PS 24. Estimated drop off time will be 2:55pm. For the first week, buses may take longer to get back as students generally need more help learning the bus routine; please don't panic if the buses take longer to arrive!
What is the uniform for PS 3? The school uniform consists of orange collared tops (polos or button downs) and navy bottoms (slacks or skirts) with black, rubber-soled shoes. You can order the official school uniform including the logo directly from our vendor, French Toast, by going to www.frenchtoast.com and enter school code QS4ARB. You can also purchase at Land's End. You can also purchase generic/no logo versions of these at any store such as Target, Sears, Children’s Place, Old Navy or Lord's @ Journal Square.

Where do I go for Morning Stars? Morning Stars will be held at Cordero. Teacher aides will assist your child to the bus in the morning.
Where does my child attend CASPER? CASPER will be held at Cordero. If your child rides the bus, teacher aides will meet the children at school after the bus arrives to take them to their CASPER classrooms.
Who do I contact if the bus is late? Contact the district's transportation office, (201) 309-2961. Please note that the schools are not responsible for the bus schedules and are unable to provide any information regarding bus arrival times.
Attendance is VERY important. There is much that is covered and learned in the early years! Attendance shows children how important school is to everyone. As per Early Childhood Policy, if a student is out 9 consecutive days they will be dropped from the roster. That does not effect excused absences due to illness; extended vacations are unexcused.
